Former gospel musician Kevin Bahati as officially defected from Jubilee party which was under Azimio la Umoja coalition and join United Democratic Alliance party (UDA).
During 2022 general election Bahati via to be a member of Parliament in Mathare constituency under Jubilee party. During the process Bahati denied a jubilee certificate and was given to another aspirant to via for the same seat under ODM.
Bahati call for a press meeting with media team,and speak out while crying live on camera on what Azimio leader Raila Odinga did to him. Raila Odinga told Bahati to step down for ODM, then after election when he become the president he will give him a job in his government.
Despite all the challenges, Bahati continue to fight for the battle up to the ballot box, lucky was not on his side and he did not manage to win.
After August election Bahati went silent for a while. He then embarked to his music career as usual, and start producing heat after heat.
Today on 12th April 2023, Bahati as officially join UDA party and leaves Azimio la Umoja he was wellcomed by the secretary general of UDA Cleophas Malala. Bahati on his speech today as said that, he regret supporting Raila Odinga and he is now happy to join UDA party. Bahati assured the party that in 2027 he will win Mathare seat as the member of Parliament.
” I here by announced to you that Honourable Bahati mtoto wa mama has officially defected from Jubilee party and now is officially a member of UDA party”, secretary general of UDA Cleophas Malala said.
