Kenya’s Communications Authority has warned Kenyans about the return of Wangiri international phone scam. This is a cyber mobile fraud that occurs when the phone rings once and the call is quickly disconnected before the user can answer/receive the call.
According to the Authority, after unsuspecting mobile user calls back the international number, his or her call is redirected to the recorded voice to keep him or her on hold as the credit is drained.
CAK has urged Kenyans not to call back any unknown international number but report is to the communications provider for blocking.
