Honourable Peter kalerwa Salasyia is the current member of Parliament for Mumias East constituency, Kakamega county. He is among the top hard working member of Parliament who have performed very well in their first year into office.
Salasyia tried to via for the same seat in 2017 but he become number 3, he didn’t loose hope he embarked into race again in 2022 and won the seat under DAP-K party.
He became famous and crack the internet during campaign, after the residents of Mumias East constituency came together and build him a house because at that time he was homeless.

After his graduation peter Salasyia become a teacher and later worked in Diamond Trust Bank as the operation director. He join politic in 2017 and ran to be a member of Parliament in Mumias East constituency but lost, in 2022 he tried his luck again and won the seat.
