News that is trending in all social media platform that Kenyans can now collect their DNA swab at home testing has elicited a massive reaction on social media , both negative and positive reaction concerning it.
This comes after a home DNA test was declared available at various pharmacies at a retail cost of about sh800.
Partanity test being one of the most contentious issues in many marriages, many billed the kit changer as game changer in helping men to determine weather the children have been rising belong to them and this can end up many marriages after finding up the whole truth.
However , medical professionals have intimated that the home DNA test collection kit cannot determine the partanity test. Pathologist Dr Ahmed Kalebi said the kit just sample collection (swab) kit.
How kanyans reacted
Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko cautioned married couples against the kit saying it could lead to many divorce cases and worn Kenyans not to use it to determine genetic DNA of their siblings.
” I have done further research on senator Omanga’s earlier DNA home test kit post going for sh800 bob. First, my advice to families , is avoid going for such test as they will lead to alot of divorce cases na kuvunja so many relationship na maboma,” said Sonko.
Former nominated senator Millicent Omanga also sought the opinion of Kenyans regarding the test kit, and also adviced Kenyans on the same issues regarding the self DNA test kit as it will lead to many marriages break-up.
