Due to this incident the government as set new rules and regulations to be followed by all the churches in order to operate failure to abide by the law your church will be closed.
Requirements for one to operate a church.
- Must have a copy of national identification card, Kenya revenue authority pin certificate and one pastport photo from each office of the society.
- Must have telephone number and email from each office of the society.
- Must have certified copy of certificate, a diploma or a degree in a theology from a recognized theological institution atleast from one office of the society.
- Must have certificate of good conduct from national police service from each office of the society.
- A tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority from each office of the society.
- A recommendation letter from a registered religious society and signed by any two officer of the society.
- List of members of the society, indicating their full name, National identification number and phone numbers.
- A sworn affidavit by each officer indicating they are registered members of the society.
