One person died on the spot while 18 other sustained bad injuries following an accident between a matatu and a private car along Rongo-Homabay road in Rongo, in Migori county on Sunday morning.
According to those people around the area who witness the accident, they said the Matatu together with the private car involved in a head collision after the matat u loss control along the road.
According to director of medical service ina Migori county, 18 people who were injured were rushed to Migori sub county hospital for treatment while the deceased moved to morgue in the same hospital waiting for postmortem.
3 people who had bad injuries were referred to Migori level 4 hospital for treatment, while the remaining 15 who had small injuries were treated at Migori sub county hospital and discharged on the same day.
The deceased who died during the accident identify as Samwel Omolo was a member of SDA church, the church mourn one of their member because he was the leader in the church and has served for more than 5 years in different capacity and as the church as lost a very important person.
The resident of Rongo as called the government to construct more bumps along Rongo-Homabay road inorder to control speed along the road and will help to reduce number of accident.
