President William Ruto has appointed the former Cherangany MP, Joshua Kutuny, as the Chairperson of the Kenya Copyright Board.
His appointment, effective from October 27, 2023, is for a three-year term.
In the 2022 elections, Kutuny lost his seat while running on a Jubilee party ticket, aligned with Azimio La Umoja, to Patrick Simiyu (DAP-K).
This appointment may also provide him with an opportunity to advise the president on political matters, leveraging his experience.
Kutuny’s political journey began when he was first elected in 2007 on an ODM ticket.
He faced defeat in 2013 when he ran on a URP ticket against Wesley Korir(Independent).
In the same year, former President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed him as the Political Affairs Director.
Kutuny made a successful political comeback in 2017, defeating Korir once again, this time on a Jubilee ticket.
Born in 1978, Kutuny holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master’s in Leadership.
He has previously stated, “My work is to plan to constitute or damage governments.”
