A somber mood ran in Kakamega county after two schools catch fire at the same time on Sunday night. St Peter’s boys high school in Mumias incident was reported first then followed by Kivaywa boys high school just some hours later.
In st Peter’s boys high school in Mumias fire burnt down a dormitory carrying capacity of 90 student, and destroying all the students properties.
No incident of death till now that as been announced, because at the time fire started students were at the dining all taking their supper, but all their personal properties and beddings were burnt down.
Kakamega county firefighter came faster and prevent fire from spreading to other dormitories.
The school administration said the incident is not going to district learning activities in school, all the activities will go on well as they sort out the affected students.
The cause of the fire in st Peter’s boys high school in Mumias as not yet been known but police are still going with their investigation.
In Kavaywa boys high school fire razed two dormitories and the cause of the fire is not yet discovered but police have arrested 6 boys who are the suspect for the cause of the incident as the Invatigation is going on.
Kakamega county government donated beddings items for the affected students so as the learning process to go on as usual.
