Police in Nyeri county have announced the recovery of over 400 mobile phones, two TV sets, three laptops, two cameras, 47 mobile subscriber sim cards, an HP printer among others.
From the DCI report, the three suspects have been put behind bars awaiting to be arraigned in court on Monday. Among the trio, one Mr. Ngatia was operating a mobile phone repair shop in the region where all the items were arrested for exhibition.
The arrest of Ngatia was after the police did an interrogation on John Kariuki and James Thuita were nabbed on November 1, 2023. The two led the detectives to their accomplice.
The crime had been reported to be on the rise in the region and across the big town in the country. The security department has however assure Kenyans to deal with the matter and ensure the phone snatchers face the full force of the law.
