The impeachment motion was table on Wednesday morning in meru county assembly .
67 members of county assembly out of 69 vote Yes for the impeachment motion tabled by Hon Kiogoro member for Abogeta west.
Governor Kawira was accused over matters such as nepotism, illigal appointments, unlawful dismissals, misleading campaign against other leaders and violation of the constitution.
Mwangaza who won election through independent ticket , was the first woman Governor in meru region.
She defeated mithika linturi( first runner up) and Kiraitu Murungu ( second runner up).
Shortly after Mwangaza sworn in to the office in August, she fell out with members of county assembly whom she accused of attempting to arm twist her over ward development funds.
The ward representative on the other hand accused Mwangaza for refusing to heed their calls for consultations.
Following her December 14, 2022 impeachment , the motion now goes to Senate , where the senator will vote to uphold the county assembly’s decision, or overturn it.
