Awinja started doing acting while in highschool where by she used to participate in drama. Immediately after high school Awinja join theater where by she got a chance to perform in set book stage play and work with directors such as David Aliwa.
Awinja came to fame after was featured in Papashirandula a drama show that used to air in citizen Tv, where by she was playing a role of a house girl who came from the village in western part of Kenya.
